After all, its very title refers to a figure of "an infinite but countable number of sides" which, "on the whole, approaches the shape of a circle." Before I read the book, I had thought that the novel was going to reveal the complexity of the issues in that conflict. ( I had to put the book down several times while reading those narratives). The narratives told by the men themselves, delivered in the very center of the novel, are wrenching. ![]() Colum McCann's hybid novel, Apeirogon, has an emotionally powerful story at its core, the real life experiences of two men, one Israeli and one Palestinian, both of whom have lost children to the ongoing conflict, and who have become spokespersons for a group seeking to end the violence by bringing an end to the Occupation of the West Bank by Israeli forces. ![]()
